Case Analysis on Diurnal Change of Ozone Concentration of Near Surface in Hefei and Xingtai

Abstract:

The ozone pollution near surface is becoming a severe problem recently, which can damage human health, plants and the ecological environment seriously. The “triple-peak” model is discovered in the experiment of the diurnal variation of ozone concentration in Hefei, Anhui, China during 2003 and 2004. Meanwhile, the “double-peak” model is showed in Xingtai during the experiment from May to June in 2016. The site of ozone observation in Hefei is surrounded by trees and reservoir, so the chemical reaction caused by the volatile organic compounds produced by the plants cannot be ignored. Moreover, the breeze downdraft between land and water is also a main cause for the formation of “peak in morning and evening” in Hefei. Xingtai belongs to the heavy pollution area, the sources of ozone should be considered more comprehensively with the pollution sources, ozone precursor composition, meteorological actors, the geographical location, and so on. The correlation analysis shows that the strong sun radiation, high temperature and low relative humidity promote ozone formation.
