Submission Instruction
1. Journal of Atmospheric and Environmental Optics is an academic journal governed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and sponsored by Hefei Institute of Physical Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It mainly reports the latest progress and achievements of basic and applied research in atmospheric optics and environmental optics at home and abroad. Columns include Progress and Review, Atmospheric Optics, Environmental Optics, Environmental Spectroscopy, Remote Sensing, Ocean Optics, Space Optics, etc.
2. Manuscripts should be with accurate information, clear arguments, reliable
experimental data, and concise writing. Non-review articles should be within
8000 Chinese characters in length.
3. Writing Requirements
3.1 Title and Keywords: Title should be both in Chinese and English. Author names, institutes, and postal code should be included. More than 3 keywords should be selected, preferably from Chinese theme words. Chinese and English keywords should be corresponding to each other.
3.2 Abstract: The Chinese abstract is generally no less than 200 Chinese characters, including four parts: objectives, methods, results, and conclusion. Important data should be listed in abstract to suggest the innovation key points of the article. The English abstract must be consistent with the content of the Chinese abstract, providing a concise and accurate summary of the article content, without comments or explanations. Abstracts should be written in the third-person perspective. Words such as "this article" or "this paper" shall be avoided in abstracts.
3.3 Quantity and Units: The English full names or English abbreviations of uncommon terms should be indicated when appearing in text for the first time. It should be specially indicated if the letters are upper case, Greek letters or super/subscript, which could be easily confused.
Vector and tensor symbols should be highlighted in black italics. All physical quantities should be represented in national legal units of measurement. Abolished units of should not be used and shall be converted to current units. For example, 1 ?=0.1 nm, 1 Torr=133.3 Pa, 1 G=10-4 T, etc.
3.4 Only officially published literature could be listed as references. The references list should be placed at the end of the text with the order in which they appear in the main text. All Chinese information of references should be translated into English.
3.5 Figures and Tables: Figures (photos) should be high-definition images in black and white, grayscale, or colored according to the need of content. Please provide the original images generated by professional software such as Origin, Igor, MATLAB, etc. Headings of figures and tables should be both in Chinese and English, while the text in figures and tables only in English (except for review articles). Please use Photoshop-compatible formats, such as TIF, JPEG, BMP, PDF, etc.
3.6 Please attach a brief introduction of the first author (if the first author is a graduate student, a brief introduction of his/her supervisor is also required), including the name, year of birth, gender (nationality), birth place, professional title, degree, research filed, and E-mail address. If the article is supported by a funding project, the official project title and number shall be provided. The journal will give priority to articles supported by funding projects.
4. Authors should submit their manuscripts via submission system on the official website, in Word format (PDF version can be provided as a reference). The review cycle of a manuscript is usually 1-3 months. If authors do not receive any notice from this journal within 3 months from the submission date, it can be deemed as rejected. For the submitted articles, this journal could make same editorial modification to the text, while the author is responsible for their own writing.
5. After the manuscript is accepted, an APC shall be payable (___300__ yuan/page/thousand words). After publishing, the editorial office will pay authors a remuneration in accordance with relevant regulations.
