Abstract: Atmospheric background monitoring reflects the long-term changes of atmospheric composition caused by human activities in a large area. It is the basic data for studying the spatio-temporal variations of greenhouse gas concentrations and their influencing factors. The concentration of the greenhouse gas near atmospheric background station is relatively low and varies slightly annualy, requiring more accuracy and stability form the gas minitoring instruments. Based on the Fourier infrared technology and the WHITE multi-reflection cell technology, this paper developed a greenhouse gas on-line monitoring system. According to the molecular absorption spectra of CO2, CH4 and CO, silicon carbide is used as the light source, and the measurement band is selected in the range of 1900-2600. With a month's running at LONGFENGSHAN base station, the result is in accordance with PICARO instrument's result. And it meets the requirements of atmospheric background measurement of greenhouse gases.
